Brandon Jean ‘Pouchy’ Celestin’s Shooter Charged

The shooter of Brandon Jean Celestin's murder has been accused as of last week. The individual has had a past of pimping and assault in relation towards the latter.

On February 17th, 2024, Brandon Jean ‘Pouchy’ Celestin exited Elio’s, an Italian restaurant located in the Little Italy sector of Montreal near the St-Denis & Bellechasse intersection. It was near 12:15am, Brandon Jean headed towards his Mercedes, when an unidentified suspect fired close to 30 gunshots towards Brandon Jean, hitting him nearly 20 times. Brandon Jean Celestin’s body lied lifeless in a parking lot, while loved ones were shedding tears over the crime scene of the incident which had just occurred.

When an incident occurs where the shooter successfully evades the scene of the crime, there is usually a follow up after the detectives and police did their part in pinpointing suspects or potential suspects. For this specific case, authorities had arrest a 35-year-old man by the name of Nestor Miguel Pintos Chew which they suspect to have been the gunman of that fateful night. Nestor Miguel Pintos Chew was arrested and accused of premeditated murder last Wednesday (24/7/2024).

Nestor Miguel Pintos Chew

Nestor Miguel Pintos Chew had been charged for assault and identity theft in the past. He also faced charges all the way back to 2016, when him and an accomplice were convicted on pimping charges. Pintos Chew and Francois Kesly had manipulated a 19-year-old girl to sell her body from hotel to motel in Ontario and Quebec. It started off as a relationship between Pintos Chew and the victim, when only a month had gone by and Pintos Chew confronted her, telling her that she owed him. Brandishing a pistol and threatening her on how he would harm her family if she ever ran to police.

The trio would eventually roam from town to town between the neighboring provinces, selling her body for money that Kesly and Pintos Chew would gain the most of, monetarily. On July 15, 2016, while driving in downtown Toronto, Pintos Chew would assault her. She ran out of the vehicle and headed for the nearest store she saw in sight, begging for help. This is when the Human Trafficking Enforcement Team came in to arrest the two suspects. They were handed 17 charges in relation to human trafficking. 13 of these charges were attributed to Pintos Chew while the 4 others were handed to Kesly. Kesly is suspected to have been the one who would book the hotels and motel.

Pintos Chew was arrested on April 12th, of 2024 for unloading a firearm on a vehicle the previous day, violating his parole. He was arrested along with two other suspects, Caleb Payet, 21, and Brandon Castillo Tobar, 26. Pintos Chew is originally from Brossard, while the two other suspects are from Montreal.

28-year-old Brandon Jean had just finished attending an engagement ceremony when the shooting occurred. There has been rumors in which this was a case of mistaken identity, with the actual target being his brother, Jean Philippe Celestin. Jean Philippe has been getting a ton of traction in the criminal world since the death of Gregory Woolley, with his name popping up in the local media multiple times. His mother’s humble adobe was targeted twice, once nearly a month after his brother’s murder. We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again, the code of honor is gone, the mutual respect for families of criminals and criminal organizations within Montreal and it’s surrounding regions is dead and gone. It’s sad to say, but with a flurry of classless acts it’s also safe to say.

The second time Celestin’s mother had been targeted was in May. With all the gunshots fired towards his mother’s house, it wouldn’t be surprising if Brandon Jean Celestin’s murder was a case of mistaken identity. It also goes to show how demented his opposition is to be willing to target his mother’s residence. Why wouldn’t they murder his brother? All we know are the facts presented above, and the fact that weeks before his brothers murder, Jean Philippe was seen walking around town with a clique of security guards. It’s evident that Jean Philippe Celestin predicted that something was going to happen.

Rest in peace Brandon Jean Celestin (?-February 17th, 2024)
