Biggie Smalls once rapped “…know you’ve heard this before, never get high on your own supply”, an old adage from the blockbuster flick ‘Scarface’. Unfortunately, this seems easier said than done. There’s a reason so many fall victim to drug use; it eliminates the dullness of life, makes a user feel like they’re above everyone else, or even makes them whole. There are two types of drug dealers. Those who sell to make money and those who sell to feed their habit.
Today we’ll decipher a family man that has stumbled upon hard times and chose to make the wrong decision at every turn. A Blood Family Mafia soldier who opted for consumption and temptation rather than his kids or even better half. BFM had done their duties. They kept him in check through a savage battery. There’s no flowers and rainbows at the end of this story. Neither are there gunshots or gravestones. It is just a segment of a man’s life which is determined by choices.
Francis Vallee portrays the best parts about him through his social media. Pictures with his wife, pictures of his kids having a great time and also his blood family, a very different blood family than the one that was birthed in the streets of Quebec City, but rather his father and such. Vallee also seems to be an avid outdoors man, snowmobiling, quading and even going out for hunting excursions.
One fact that isn’t portrayed on his social media are his acquaintances. Francis Vallee is a known member of the Blood Family Mafia. Little do we know about his place in the gang, or how high he is in the hierarchy, but we can presume he might have something to do with the sales of narcotics.
He was convicted and charged for breaking and entering, drug trafficking, assault and domestic violence. To top it all off he was also charged for violating his parole. Vallee was eventually freed after purging part of his sentence. His freedom came with certain follow-ups. He was mandated to follow a ‘therapy’ for a number of months. This was the second chance the court gave him after he was arrested two separate times throughout 2023 and 2024.
On October 18th, 2024, Francis Vallee decided to shit the bed, fleeing his therapy center and arranging for his wife to pick him up at a therapy center in Laval. Once his wife arrived, he stole her vehicle along with her debit and credit cards and whatever loose cash she had on her at the time. He also snatched her phone. The vehicle was later found in Saint-Appolinaire by the SQ (Quebec Provincial Police).
Vallee led police on a three day hunt, being technically deemed a fugitive at the time. Fleeing Friday the 18th and later being apprehended by authorities on Monday the 21st of October, little is known what had occurred throughout his time on the lam. When he was apprehended, he was shipped directly back to prison, more precisely the Quebec Detention Center, better known to criminals as Orsainville, a provincial prison near Quebec City.
On the 24th-25th of October, prison guards had found Vallee unconscious, draped in covers and pillows. The man had been savagely beaten and was shipped to the nearest hospital. Health officials did not fear for his life. You’d think the beating occurred by the Blood Family Mafia’s rivals, but ‘au contraire’ it was the hands of fellow BFM soldiers that had executed the beating on the man. Something about a settling a dispute.
The BFM drug war takes place in two settings; on the streets and behind bars. We’ve witnessed Maxime Maheux and Guillaume St-Louis Bernier, two BFM members, take beatings as quickly as the week they made prison their humble abode, and it keeps happening. The question remains; was Francis Vallee’s drug use the reason he was beaten black and blue behind bars, or was there an ulterior motive?
