The Weekly Wreck: Trois-Rivieres Strip Club Victim To Criminal Arson, Orsainville Prison Stabbing & More

The Weekly Wreck 1: The debut of a new weekly instalment dubbed 'The Weekly Wreck' on gang related incidents such as arsons, stabbings, and shooting on the Eastern provinces.

Criminality in the province of Quebec is at an all time high and has never been more diverse. This might be due to an influx of immigration throughout the past two decades. With an increase in population, leads to an increase in crime. It is not just the bikers, mafia and black street gangs anymore. With gangs such as Arab Power, STL, BFM and numerous different street gangs including all sorts ethnic diversities taking reign in several different neighborhoods in Montreal and Quebec. It’s a definite fact that the game is changing progressively.

Due to this fact, several different incidents are taking place, which make it hard to build a big story with so little facts. Eventually all these little incidents will pop up in one of our ‘Set Profiles’ or even ‘Character Profiles’ once more light is shed on the criminal who took part in either a gang war or drug war. This is why it is so essential to note the criminal arsons, prison stabbings or even victimless shootings. Hence, we have decided to start a new instalment which will sum up all the little incidents that have occurred in the Eastern provinces named ‘The Weekly Wreck’. In our first installment we’ll be looking at several incidents in the province of Quebec.

The first incident we will be looking at is the criminal arson of a strip club located in the city of Trois-Rivieres. It’s important to note that Trois-Rivieres is located midway between Quebec City and Montreal, making it one of the biggest cities in Quebec. Montreal being the first, Quebec City, the second and Trois-Rivieres trailing behind Gatineau and Sherbrooke in 5th place. Trois-Rivieres is also home to a Hells Angels MC Chapter.

With the Blood Family Mafia and HAMC drug war that is currently taking place, we saw a victimless shooting of the Trois-Rivieres chapter’s clubhouse earlier on this year. Now, a strip club which has seen a ton of MC members in the establishment, was target by a criminal arson. We can’t say for certain whether this arson is in relation to the ongoing drug war happening on the East of the province.

The club in question is the Scrabble Bar, located at 1611 Rue Royale. It was a taxi driver who was passing by on a commute who had called 911 close to 4:30am last Wednesday (7/08/2024). Firefighters determined that there had been two fires set to put the building a blaze. One in the entrance and the other by a window. The case was then handed to local Trois-Rivieres police since they believed foul play was at hand.

Throughout 2024, Quebec prisons have seen a rise in violence with 5 previous incidents taking place. As mentioned before, this is due to the rise of street gangs in recent years. Tensions are starting to heighten. Some of these incident include the ‘jumping’ of Blood Family Mafia member Guillaume St-Louis Bernier right before a predetermined court date and a prison fight between 3 prisoners held at the Donnacona federal prison in which one person needed to be rushed to the hospital.

Another incident had taken place on the 1st of August where an angsty member of the ‘Arab Power Gang’ was stabbed in the throat and armpit. The stabbing, or ‘shanking’, occurred towards 7pm of that day. Keep in mind, the 28-year-old member of the gang was known as an instigator, or in other words was looking for trouble. The incident occurred at the Quebec Detention Center, better known as Orsainville.

The Arab Power Gang is a street gang hailing from Montreal, which is a wonder why he got locked up at a provincial prison in Quebec City. But we have the answer; in 2023, he was convicted of a crime committed in Beauce, a region neighboring Quebec City. He was convicted of assault, robbery and extortion from incidents that took place three years prior.

It seems that messages in the underworld are sent by either two ways, the shooting of a residence or building, or a criminal arson. Such was the case on a Kirkland house last night in the wee hours of the morning. Kirkland is a borough of Montreal located to the West of the island. Although we are unaware of who owns the residence, or what crime organization they might be affiliated with, if there is any, it seems very much so that this was related to organized crime and not just a fluke.

911 services received a call regarding gunshots heard in a residential neighborhood towards 1:25am Tuesday morning. When police arrived at the scene near the intersection of Beaubois and Timberlea-Trail they found a residential house, with garage doors riddled with bullets. Four gunshots were let off from a moving vehicle in which 2 of these bullets hit the garage door of the residence. It’s important to state there were no injuries resulting in this shooting.

Two more incidents had occurred prior to this shooting in the neighborhood of Kirkland previously. The two previous events were criminal arson. One had taken place on the 10th of August and the other had taken place a week prior on the 28th of July, this time, which consisted of a vehicle that had been set on fire.

This concludes our Weekly Wreck for today, although there will be a second part released throughout the week in relation to a few stabbing incidents which have occurred throughout the week. Stay tuned!
