19,000 Contraband Cigarettes Seized In Chaudiere-Appalaches
Three search warrants had taken place on Wednesday the 29th of January in the municipalities of Montmagny, St-Ignace and L’islets which led to three arrests. This operation was dubbed ‘ACCES Tabac’ and was aimed at the illegal traffic of contraband cigarettes. All in all, the SQ had managed to seize up to 19,000 cigarettes throughout the raids that had been effected on that day.
Police Intercept Shooters In Val-Alain Armed Assault
Wednesday (29/01/2025) afternoon, towards 2:15pm, gunshots rang out on 4e Rang in Val-Alain, a town located in the Chaudiere-Appalaches region of the province. Police were called and warned about the shots that rang out by local residents. Once police arrived at the scene of the crime, they found a victim injured, suffering from gunshot wounds. They rushed the victim to the nearest hospital in non-life threatening condition.

The suspects involved had caused a break and entry in a residence. Upon their misadventure, they stumbled upon an occupant of the building and shot them. They would then flee the scene of the crime using a vehicle. Police were warned of the incident which had led them into a manhunt. A squad car would later spot the suspects which would lead to a high-speed chase throughout Autoroute Felix Leclerc. They were apprehended at the intersection of Henri-Bourassa Boulevard.

Saint-Laurent Vehicle Arson
A sedan had burst into flames on Wednesday (29/01/2025) night in a parking lot of the Saint-Laurent borough of Montreal. Witnesses had phoned 911 to notify police about the arson which was taking place near the Boulevard Jules-Poitras and Rue Crepeau. The vehicle was deemed a total loss and was towed in order to allow investigators to further inspect the evidence. The cause of the arson is still unknown. One of the car doors had been open when police arrived at the scene.

2 Arrested In Temiscouata Police Chase
An SQ squad car proceeded to light its sirens up Wednesday night (29/01/2025) towards 5pm on Route 85 near Notre-Dame-du-Lac. The suspect vehicle had only accelerated when the sirens started, leading police on a high-speed chase. A dozen kilometers later, both suspects had decided to ditch the vehicle in Temiscouata, fleeing on foot.
The two suspects were quickly apprehended by police, both men, one in his twenties while the other was in his thirties. Upon searching the men, police found stolen objects as well as drugs on their person. The duo were charged with a slew of various charges including breaking their parole conditions. All in all, police managed to seize 5800 grams of cannabis, 100 units of hash oil, 650 grams of magic mushrooms, 300 vapes, 200 contraband cigarettes, 1100 nicotine vapes and 43,000 cartridges of flavored vape pods.
5 Arrested In Saguenay Drug Ring
A police operation which had been in the works for nearly a year led to the arrests of 5 individuals in Saguenay on Wednesday (29/01/2025). The crackdown initially started off as 2 arrest warrants for 33-year-old Nicolas Gagnon and Jimmy Harvey. 3 other individuals were arrested throughout the crackdown, all aged between 30 to 70 years old. Police managed to seize cocaine and methamphetamine along with a car and some cash. This operation had been in the works since last February, when police seized drugs and cash after executing a warrant in Jonquiere.
Shots Fired at Hochelaga Triplex
Wednesday night (29/01/2025) towards 10pm a triplex near the intersection of Rue Pierre-Magnan and Louis-Dupire had been targeted by a flurry of gunshots. Two suspects were seen entering a vehicle and fleeing the scene. No one was injured in the shooting. When police arrived at the scene, they found multiple bullet holes and shell casings.

Man Found Dead In Rosemont
Thursday (31/01/2025) morning a passer-by found a 33-year-old man unconscious near the intersection of Bordeaux and Bellechasse. Once police arrived on the scene, the man was rushed to the hospital where they marked his time of death. The circumstances leading up to this man’s death are still mysterious, although police believe it was due to an act of criminality. The autopsy will help further the investigation.

Vehicle Arson In DDO Driveway
Police were called and notified about a vehicle that had been set aflame in the driveway of a Dollard-des-Ormeaux residence. The house was situated on Rue Papillon and the arson had occurred on Saturday night (1/02/2025) towards 11pm. Witnesses recall one suspect fleeing the scene quickly after the fire had been set.

Attempted Murder In Saint-Polycarpe
On Sunday (2/02/2025) night in Saint-Polycarpe police received a call concerning a man in his thirties, injured from gunshot wounds. The incident had occurred towards 9:30pm on Chemin de L’Eglise. The victim was rushed to a hospital and managed to survive the attempt on his life. No arrests have been made as of yet.

Vehicle Arson In Ahuntsic
In the wee hours of Tuesday (4/02/2025) morning, towards 1:15am, a vehicle had been set on fire near the intersection of Rue de Lille and Rue Sauriol in the Ahuntsic borough of Montreal. Police found evidence that led them to believe the fire was criminally set. An investigation has been opened in relation to this event.
