The Weekly Wreck 15: Les Nana Criminal Arson, Laurentians Meth Lab Dismantled, North Montreal Stabbing & More

The Weekly Wreck 15 (3/03/2025): In this week's edition, we cover topics such as a methamphetamine lab being dismantled the in the Laurentians region of the province, the criminal arson of a business in Ahuntsic, a possible gangland stabbing in Ville-Marie and more.

Les Nana: Criminal Arson Of An Ahuntsic Business

Throughout Tuesday (25/02/2025) night, leading up to the wee-hours of Wednesday morning; Les Nana, a jewelry wholesaler located on 355 de Louvain West was the target of a criminal arson. A witness had seen a suspect break-in through a glass panel, setting the place on fire and ultimately fleeing the scene. Emergency services managed to tame the flames early on throughout the night, making the damages slightly minor.

The investigation was transferred to the criminal arsons division of the SPVM (Montreal Police Service). Firefighters found an incendiary object at the scene prompting the latter decision. The wholesaler was found in a strip mall named ‘Tricotto’, in an industrial sector of the Ahuntsic borough.


North Montreal Stabbing

In the wee-hours of Wednesday (26/02/2025) morning, towards 3am, the SPVM received a call concerning a young man that had been wounded by knife wound on Rue de Bruxelles, near the intersection of Boulevard Gouin East. Once police had arrived on the scene, they rushed the victim to the nearest hospital, surviving the incident.

For now, no arrests have been made. It is unknown what led to the stabbing, authorities are blind to whether this was the result of a disagreement which eventually led to the violence or if something of another nature had taken place. The identity of the victim hasn’t been released to the public. The only information we are aware of is that the victim was only 19-years-old.


Bellechasse Criminal Arson

A call was placed to police at around 4:30am on Wednesday (26/02/2025) morning in the Saint-Raphael sector of the Bellechasse municipality, located south of Quebec City. Emergency services were warned of the nature of this arson towards 6am, the same time firefighters managed to tame the flames. No suspects had been arrested for this crime and the circumstances of the event are deemed as shady.


Levis Senior Citizen Outsmarts Fraudsters

A senior citizen hailing from Levis managed to dance with the devil and outsmart 3 fraudsters. The victim was targeted for the crime throughout the last week of February. Her wits helped her keep the fraudster’s jigging until they reclaimed their rewards. At the end of the line, the supposed ‘reward’ consists of all three or the fraudsters being arrested.

The three Montreal fraudsters, aged 19, 22 and 27 were duped into thinking this citizen had been unaware of the grand scheme. She had played the players, with a squadron of cop cars awaiting them when it had been time to recoup their earnings. Police had arrested two of the Montreal fraudsters in a vehicle, while the thirds began to lead chase. The takedown happened on Wednesday (26/02/2025) afternoon towards 2pm.

Unwillingly, these supplementary footsteps would land the criminal with a chunk more prison time than the two others. They’re set to appear in court later on in the year, with a court date scheduled for the 29th of May, 2025.


SPVQ Raids Lead To One Arrest

Two raids had been executed in Limoilou, a borough of Quebec City, and L’Ancienne-Lorette, which ties on the border of the city. Police seized a kilogram of cocaine, 80,000 contraband cigarettes, over 5,000$ in cash money and a vehicle. A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged for possession and intent to distribute narcotics, he was released with a promise to appear in court. No links were made to the ongoing drug war.


2 Arrested In Gaspesie Drug Seizure

30-year-old Cedric Hammond-Pelletier and 48-year-old Eric Maldemay where arrested by the Chandler drug task-force on Thursday (27/02/2025). These arrests come after seizures affected in Paspebiac, in the Gaspesie region of the province. These raids took place in Boulevard Gerard-D. Levesque. Authorities managed to seize 1500 grams of cocaine along with two cellphones.

Maldemay attempted to escape police during the raids, adding supplementary charges to his whole fiasco. Both men appeared in the New Carlisle court on Thursday afternoon.


Laurentians Methamphetamine Lab Dismantled

An operation led by the RCMP managed to dismantle a clandestine methamphetamine lab in the Gore municipality of the Laurentians. The operation debuted Tuesday and led to the arrests of four suspects. Two other raids, both in Mille-Isles also took place, but the smoking gun was a room hidden by a false entrance in a Gore residential garage.

Many different chemicals used in order to create the drugs were seized throughout the raids. All four suspects arrested and charged throughout the crimes were released with a promise to appear in court.


2 Rawdon B&E Artists Arrested

A 30-year-old and 57-year-old duo of robbers were apprehended late Thursday (27/02/2025) night in Rawdon. The two men had been on spree of at least 25 robberies of businesses throughout the province of Quebec, dating back to last summer. Their targets consisted of corner stores, fast food restaurants such as Tim Hortons, Subway, Valentine and also several gas stations.

The duo would break into windows and ransack the business they had targeted for the night. They would even go as far as breaking in by the front door of the commerce. Although they did steal cigarettes and lottery tickets, items that held little value were not safe from the two men, stealing lighters and other cheaply priced things. Most of the thefts had occurred on the island of Montreal and its surrounding regions.


21-Year-Old Stabbed In Ville-Marie

Towards 6:50pm on Friday (28/02/2025) evening, a 21-year-old had been stabbed after an altercation had taken place. The incident occurred on Rue Berger and the police had been contacted soon after. Once they arrived on the scene, the young man was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police managed to question the victim soon after, but failed to get much information out of him, as he was reluctant to speak to the authorities.


2 Stabbed In Sainte-Eustache

On Friday (28/02/2025), while a soccer tournament was taking place at Patriotes high school in Sainte-Eustache, a double stabbing occurred. A group of teenagers had made their way to the parking lot, which is when the night had degenerated after an altercation leading to two of the teenagers getting stabbed. The two victims managed to make their way back to the sports complex of the high school, where numerous parents attending the soccer game had helped them out. Police were contacted and arrived on the scene towards 9pm, rushing the two stab wound victims to the hospital.


Rosemont Vehicle Arson

A Ford pickup truck had been burnt to a crisp following a criminal arson which had occurred in the Rosemont borough of Montreal. Police had been contacted towards 11:10pm on Friday (28/02/2025) concerning the arson on the intersection of Rue Saint-Andre and Jean-Talon. The investigation was transferred to the SPVM’s criminal arson department.


Anjou Vehicle Arsons

Two suspects were seen by multiple witnesses setting fires that had ultimately spread to two vehicles on Saturday (1/03/2025) night. Police were contacted about the incident towards 9:05pm, the arson had occurred on Avenue l’Alsace near the intersection of d’Allonnes. The first vehicle in which the fire had spread onto was considered a total loss, as the second suffered major damages.
