Jean-David Isme Murder: Three Arrested With Ties To BFM

Three individuals were arrested last Thursday (10/04/2025) in regards to the Jean-David Isme murder which happened in February of this year. Two of the suspects arrested have ties to BFM. This fact begs the question whether this was a hit contracted in part of the drug war or not?

A couple of months ago, we wrote an article about a murder which had occurred on February 7th in the Cotes-des-Neiges (CDN)/Notre-Dame-de-Grace (NDG) borough of Montreal. The victim? Jean-David Isme. The uncle of Profit Boyz rapper Ander ‘Ali Baba’ Luberisse, who was found dead in a Riviere-des-Prairies prison cell in December. Three people were arrested this morning concerning the Jean-David Isme murder, and two of the suspects allegedly have ties to the Blood Family Mafia leader, Dave ‘Pic’ Turmel, who had been arrested in Rome after being on the lam for nearly two years.

Three suspects were arrested in regards to the Jean-David Isme murder which had occurred near the intersection of Rue Saint-Jacques and Boulevard Beaconsfield the night of February 7th. Isme, had been shot to death in a white sedan. First responders attempted CPR to no avail. The 55-year-old man was declared dead later on, in the hospital he had been rushed to. Among the suspects arrested is 26-year-old Bryan Moreau-Gignac who had a direct relationship to the Blood Family Mafia’s leader, Dave ‘Pic’ Turmel. The two others accused are 22-year-old, Dariush Kabirinaeini, and 35-year-old, Samuel Cody-Jourdain, who police note is a member of the Blood Family Mafia.

The three suspects were apprehended in three different regions of the province. Baie-Comeau, on the north shore of the Saint-Lawrence river, in the Cote-Nord region of the province, where a lot of the violence stemming from the drug war is currently happening. Another suspect was arrested in Quebec City, and finally the third suspect was apprehended in Montreal. These three arrest warrants were served last Thursday, on the 10th of April. All three appeared in court the following day, facing charges of premeditated murder.

The Suspects

Bryan Moreau-Gignac, was newly arrested while out on parole, after being arrested and released on March 21st, 2024 in an Airbnb apartment in Toronto. In his 2024 charge, he was accused of possession with intent to traffic cannabis behind the bars of the Baie-Comeau detention center, serving time for other charges. Maintaining close ties to Dave ‘Pic’ Turmel, he had been wanted by authorities since July of 2023. Moreau-Gignac is a Baie-Comeau native. He was under judicial supervision at the time of the Isme murder, and was supposed to appear in court the next day concerning an accusation of death threats and intimidation towards a government worker. Least to say, he never showed up since. His past charges include robbery, assault and drug trafficking.

Samuel Cody-Jourdain, who authorities label as a key figure of the BFM organization was also arrested for the murder of Isme. Cody-Jourdain’s criminal wrap sheet dates back to at least 2018. On the 22nd of June, 2018, he pointed a .22 caliber, sawed -off, semi-automatic rifle at two individuals, robbing them and firing shots in their proximity. He was eventually apprehended in a Sept-Isles motel on the 5th of July, nearly two weeks later. He was also in possession of a .30-06 caliber rifle. Two women were also accused of being accomplices after the fact, 24-year-old Annie-Claude Bacon, and 48-year-old Christine Bacon. Both of whom, were released with a promise to appear. Cody-Jourdain is a Maliotenam native and is facing 16 charges in relation to that June night.

Samuel Cody-Jourdain

His next major legal fiasco would date back to the 10th of December, 2023. This time in a form of domestic violence. Cody-Jourdain had beaten his girlfriend, in a very hostile way. The man had bashed her head on the wall, kicked and punched his 45-year-old partner, as well as attacked her with a flower pot. Then the death threats came, claiming he would bury her six feet under. He had been handed a sentence of 15 months with a 3-year probation for this outburst of violence. This was the second violent incident which had occurred in the span of their relationship. She had called the cops the first time, but didn’t have the heart to follow-up on the judicial proceedings.

Samuel Cody-Jourdain

The third and youngest suspect is the one we know the least about. Dariush Kabirinaeini has faced scrutiny from the authorities in the past, in regards to grand theft auto, a case which is still pending. He was also nabbed for petty crimes such as obstruction of a peace officer and fleeing the authorities in Toronto back in 2023.

Jean-David Isme had brushed shoulders with the law in the past, with his most recent charge dating back to last September, when he was arrested with a gun and a mask in Levis. He also had a past gun charge as well as possession with intent to distribute cannabis. Although being a prevalent underworld figure in the ’90’s, he had allegedly put the brakes on his life of crime in the past couple decades. Let’s not forget in the ’90’s he had served a 6-year stint in prison for a kidnapping charge.

Jean-David Isme

We cannot yet conclude that the Jean-David Isme homicide had anything to do with the current drug war, but we can lay out all the facts given following this event. Isme, 55, at the time of his death, was the uncle to rapper Andrew ‘Ali Baba’ Luberisse, also a member of RDP’s notorious street gang, the Profit Boyz. A gang that claims the color green, and has beefed with Montreal-North’s Zone 43, before they became involved with the Blood Family Mafia and the current strife with the HAMC and its allies.

Andrew ‘Ali Baba’ Luberisse

Unfortunately, the Profit Boyz seem to have different stances and outlooks about this whole Quebec Drug War hype. Some are siding with the bikers, while others are sick of paying their fair share; a 10% tax on all drugs sold in certain regions of the province. This is where it gets hazy, creating inner conflicts, making this a more complicated matter than just a simple ‘red .vs blue’ type of strife. Let’s remember, Andrew ‘Ali Baba’ Luberisse and his crew was the side of the Profit Boyz that sided with the bikers, which makes it all the much more suspicious when BFM allies have taken part in his uncle’s murder.
