Towards 11pm on April 28th, a shooting occurred on Rue Marsolet in Sept-Isles located in the Cote-Nord region of Quebec. A town which has witnessed an influx of violence since the start of the Quebec Drug War. Keep in mind a previous shooting incident occurred on the 8th of January in a residence of the very same street. The only difference between these two shootings is that the more recent one led to a casualty.

April 28th Shooting
The most recent news of this shooting came out on the 9th of May, with several news sources updating the Sept-Isles public that the 38-year-old victim of the shooting which occurred in the night of April 28th on Rue Marsolet had succumbed to his wounds. The shooting took place towards 11pm, and once emergency services arrived on the scene of the crime, they rushed the victim to the hospital. The man died on Wednesday (7/05/2025) night.



The SQ (Quebec Provincial Police) and its Sept-Isles spokesperson, Hugues Beaulieu, let the public know that this event was in relation to the ongoing drug war. He also mentioned that the victim was very well known to police, having nearly 50 cases pinned to his name. Being sentenced for several crimes including drug trafficking, armed assault and obstruction of justice, only to note a few. An investigation was opened, although no arrests have been made as of yet.


January 8th Shooting
This earlier incident took place on the same Sept-Isles street, Rue Marsolet, and on the very same stretch, near the intersection of Falkan. We do not know the victim’s name or if the victim was known to police. The shooting occurred towards 10:15pm in a residence. Where two assailants entered the residence the victim was staying at and ultimately opening fire. The victim was a 35-year-old man and was rushed to the nearest hospital once emergency services had arrived on the scene.


Health care professionals let the media know that his life was not in danger, even though he had been struck by one or several projectiles. The SQ (Quebec Provincial Police) were hesitant to release any more information to the public, but they did state that this had been a shooting in relation to the ongoing drug war happening in the province. No arrests were made in relation to this shooting.
