19-Year-Old Stabbed To Death After Attempting To Rob Someone With A Squeegee

A 19-year-old man was stabbed in a series of unfortunate events Saturday night, causing his death. The events leading up to this stabbing lead the public to believe whether the stabbing was in the nature of self-defense, or recklessness of an ego trip.

If an individual goes out and about looking for trouble, they should be far from shocked when they’re met with it. Such was the case when 19-year-old Rassim Ladjrafi. Saturday night, Rassim, his brother Rostane and three or so other individuals lingered in the streets of Hochelaga, looking for trouble.

They found their victim at a gas pump located near the Langelier metro station. Their target was pumping gas in his Mercedes sedan when the group of youngins attacked the victim, which was a 27-year-old man. They used gas station squeegees, meant to clean your car’s windshield, as weapons in hopes of robbing the innocent man, shattering the Mercedes’ hind windshield.

While the altercation had come to an end, the group began to walk away, not knowing if they had actually stolen anything. Frazzled and frustrated by the assault, the 27-year-old victim of the alleged robbery began following the group, a costly mistake. When the man caught up with the young adults, an exchange of fists began to take place, ultimately ending up in the stabbing of one of the assailants, 19-year-old, Rassim Ladjrafi. The incident had occurred near the Arcand and Robert-Jurie intersection

Police received a call at 6:55pm concerning the altercation which had just taken place. When they arrived onto the scene they found Rassim bleeding profusely accompanied by his twin brother Rostane. Rassim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later operated on later that night. After the surgery, doctors noted how they weren’t fearing for his life anymore. It is only when the next day arrived at around noon, complications had arrived in Rassim’s health, leading to his death.

Two men involved in the altercation that night had been arrested including the 27-year-old robbery victim who had stabbed the young man, and a 19-year-old victim, presumably Rostane, Rassim’s twin brother. The 19-year old was released after being questioned shortly after his arrest. This goes to show how easily a victim of a crime can become the suspect.
