EGK, short for ‘Everybody Gets Killed’, is a street gang hailing from the Saint-Leonard borough of Montreal that is making waves in news headlines across the province of Quebec.
You might remember the 14-year-old teenager that was found dead, with the remnants of his body being found burnt and mangled in close proximity to the Red Devils MC Frampton clubhouse. A sedan had then been found torched in the middle of a field containing two assault rifles. Within two kilometers of the clubhouse. That 14-year-old kid was one of two people that had been put on by EGK to ambush the Frampton clubhouse and set fire to the residence. Facts around that tragic night remain in a haze of mystery. It is unclear whether EGK have branched out of the STL street gang or is still a subgroup of the gang.

Nevertheless, this sets a tone for the actions of the street gangs pinned against the Hells Angel MC and the distance they are willing to go in order to hinder their opposition. This article isn’t about the ongoing strife between bikers and certain street gangs, but rather the action of an EGK member nicknamed ‘Freeze’ which occurred during the night of September 18th, 2025. Let’s note that EGK is also in a feud with the Anjou Gang, Anjou being a borough of Montreal.

Attempted Murder Charge
A shooting had occurred throughout the night of September 18th, 2025. The suspect had fled the scene before police had arrived. After further investigation, they nabbed a suspect. The suspects name? Soulymane ‘Freeze’ El Alaoui Benchad, a 21-year-old member of Saint Leonard’s EGK. Sources claimed Benchad had aimed towards an unidentified man and fired a few shots in his direction. These same sources failed to mention the location of the event and if the suspect had actually been struck by a bullet. Witnesses claimed hearing multiple gunshots at the time of the incident.

Funnily enough, a TVA article mentions how a shooting had taken place in Anjou, on Joseph-Renaud, near the intersection of Wilfrid-Pelletier towards 9:30pm that night. A vehicle had been pulled over containing five individuals who were all arrested near Saint-Leonard. All aged between 16-23 years old, although, no weapon had been found upon their search. We can only entertain the idea that these two separate events are related as this TVA article claims that no victims or shell casings had been found upon the SPVM’s (Montreal Police Service) arrival at the crime scene.
Runaway Misfit
The first time El Alaoui Benchad’s name popped up in new headlines was in late 2020, when Benchad was only 15-years-old. The reason for his name surfacing in the news only lies in the young man fleeing his home. Soulymane El Alaoui Benchad had been last seen on October 31st of 2019. Being found a few months later.

Soulymane Benchad was on the run with his younger brother, Ilyasse ‘Bobby’ El Alaoui Benchad, who had been 13-14 years old at the time. They were seen on December 8th in the Rivieres-des-Prairies borough of Montreal before being found on January 6th in the North Shore of Laval. Ilyasse had previously fled from his home on July 7th and in April of 2019. A common occurrence.

2023 STL VS Anjou Strife
In 2023, an increase in tension between STL and the Anjou street gang had taken place following the March 19th, 2023 murder of EGK member, Khaled ‘Kash’ Mouloudj. To be more specific, the strife had been between the EGK (Eveybody Gets Killed) branch of STL and the Bloc 6 street gang from Anjou.

On April 5th of 2023, police arrested three EGK members. The members in question were none other than Soulymane ‘Freeze’ El Alaoui Benchad, Ilyasse ‘Bobby’ El Alaoui Benchad and Adam ‘Kaybi’ Mrabti Fassi. The trio had been accused of multiple charges such as possession of a firearm, a Glock, high-capacity magazines, being in possession of a prohibited device and breaching parole conditions.

The trio were found hiding out in the northeast sector of the island. Planning revenge for their fallen brother, hiding from their opposition and authorities. It’s important to note that this is not only a street beef, but a rap beef as well, with multiple diss tracks or subliminal lines put into these lyrics to aggravate the opposing gang. With subjects matter such as dead members of their opposition and comments egging the gang members into physical violence and shootings.

As the investigation into Khaled ‘Kash’ Mouloudj went on, his killers had been triangulated in a major police operation. Nearly 175 police officers had participated in the arrest of eight Bloc 6 members and executed nine search warrants on the 26th of April, 2023.

Let’s note that EGK was founded as the STL’s branch of “shooters”, a ride or die crew that took care of the dirty work. As time passes by, EGK is being referred to less and less as a “subgroup” of STL, disassociating them with their mother gang and giving an out for them to identify as a separate organization.
