Project Alliance (Part 1): The Beginning Of The End For All Of Those Who Ever Conspired With Frederick Silva

Project Alliance has gone through its first major motions as Frederick Silva continues to unveil mob secrets of the highest extent to organized crime's worst enemy; the authorities. On June 12th, 2025, 16 arrests warrants were served. Arresting 11 individuals, decapitating the leadership of the Montreal mafia, and charging the suspects involved with murder and conspiracy. In this first installment, we'll cover the very events that occurred on June 12th, the charges, and we'll dip into the history of the suspects arrested.

Eleven individuals suspected of being career criminals were rudely awakened towards 6am on June 12th, 2025, by none other than the SQ, in other words by the Quebec Provincial Police. A day, I’m sure, many of them were fearing since a certain hitman, Frederick Silva, agreed to cooperate with authorities in June of 2022. Frederick Silva is no small fish, but will very likely go down as one of the most intriguing hitmen in Quebec’s history. Silva’s involvement with over 60 homicides proves this point. So why is this the beginning of the end? Why so dramatic? The answer lies in the different cells of organized crime he was committing and conspiring these 60 plus murders for. Mafia, bikers and street gangs. He had his hands in everything but the kitchen sink.

Frederick Silva

There was a twisted harmony which was slowly created throughout the 2000’s when Gregory ‘Picasso’ Woolley befriended Vito Rizzuto in the Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines penitentiary courtyard back in 2004. Woolley gained his bones for being the right-hand man for Maurice ‘Mom’ Boucher, who led the HAMC through the Quebec Biker War of the ’90s. He had a newly found contact with the mafia, let’s not forget his relation to several street gangs he forged throughout the ’90s. Combining a select few of criminals, making the ‘Syndicate’, a street gang composed of bikers and street gangs.

A picture of some members of the Syndicate gang taken in the ’90s.

Mafia, bikers and street gangs. The perfect trio. A trio which would eventually need to commission a series of murders, which is when Frederick Silva would come into play.

Vito Rizzuto

The years leading up to Silva’s arrest wouldn’t have been for the faint of heart. The arrest took place on February 23rd of 2019, after being a fugitive for over two years. Growing his beard and hair out, all while going under the moniker of David Guerard and Michael Vincinni. Even going as far as applying for a passport under a false identity. A prisoner so prolific he had to have an air evacuation out of Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, a federal penitentiary located in the plains of well, Saint-Anne-des-Plaines, when he decided to cooperate with authorities. Silva folded after serving nearly three years in the federal penitentiary. Hence the birth of Project Alliance, possibly the biggest criminal file in the province of Quebec since its birth. Silva’s revelations might bring light to a total of 65 different homicides and attempted homicides.

Three years later, the intel given to authorities would fully decapitate the Montreal mafia, as Project Alliance served a dozen and a half warrants throughout Quebec. Beheading the Montreal mafia as we now know it, arresting both Leonardo Rizzuto and Stefano Sollecito at around 6am on June 12th, 2025. Supplementary to the Rizzuto and Sollecito arrests were nine other arrests, with the addition of five other individuals wanted, but seem to be on the loose.

June 12th Arrests

The hot topic in Eastern Canadian true crime news these days are the arrests of Leonardo Rizzuto and Stefano Sollecito. The duo were arrested alongside nine other individuals targeting not only the Montreal mob but also the prevailing motorcycle club in the province as well as certain street gangs. The sweep hadn’t led up to 100% of the arrest warrants set about this morning, with a quarter of the individuals targeted being deemed as “wanted”. Five to be exact, with the SQ believing that 3 of the 5 wanted are seeking refuge overseas.

150 officers from several different task forces were needed in the raids and search warrants executed Thursday on June 12th, 2025. Police were up-and-about and knocking at the door of several different locations, waking suspects up as early as 6 in the morning. Such was the case with 56-year-old Leonardo Rizzuto arrested at his Laval home towards 6:30am. He was later photographed in the back of an SPVM SUV accompanied by three other vehicles entering the parking lot of one of the SPVM’s headquarters. Rizzuto is allegedly heading the Montreal mafia along with 57-year-old Stefano Sollecito.

Among the other nine other people arrested on Thursday also include Davide Barberio, 45, Vito Salvaggio, 50, Daniele Guarna, 45, Darius Perry, 27, Patrick Gilbert, 51, Michel Cliche, 54, and Hells Angels MC member, Jean-Richard Lariviere. The five other suspects still being sought after by police include Mario Sollecito, 54, Stacey Richard Krolik, 56, Gianpietro Tiberio, 52, Jean-Ismael Zephir, 46, and Pierry Philogene, 39. Keep in mind that Gregory ‘Picasso’ Woolley and Samy Tamouro would have also been arrested in the frame of this operation had they not been murdered respectively in November and December of 2023.

The Charges

Both Stefano Sollecito and Leonardo Rizzuto are charged with the premeditated murder of Lorenzo Lopresti along with Mario Sollecito, Nicola Spagnolo, Vito Salvaggio, Stacey Richard Krolik and Michel Cliche. The same group of people are also accused of conspiring to murder Guiseppe Renda, Antonio Vanelli, Joseph DiMaulo, Moreno Gallo, Salvatore ‘Sal the Ironworker’ Montagna, Antonio ‘Tony Suzuki’ Pietrantonio and Raynald Desjardins.

Jean-Richard ‘Race’ Lariviere is accused of three murders; Vincent Lamer, Sebastien Beauchamps and Gaetan Sevigny. Lariviere is also accused of the attempted murder of Jean-Guy Bourgoin. Lariviere plotted these crimes with the help of Samy Tamouro and Frederick Silva. Davide Barberio, Pietro D’Adamo, Daniele Guarna, Darius Perry and Pierry Philogene are all accused of the premeditated murder of Charles-OIivier Boucher-Savard.

Vincent Lamer

Finally, Patrick Gilbert, Gianpetro Tiberio and Jean-Ismel Zephir are accused of the premeditated murder of Domenico Facchini. The same group is also charged with the attempted murder of Vito D’Orazio which occurred on the very same day as the Facchini murder.

Project Reprisal (Projet Represailles)

Another police operation that runs almost concurrently and is married with Project Alliance, would be Project Reprisal (Projet Represailles).

Arsene ‘Big Mouth’ Mompoint

The underworld figures targeted comprised of Jean-Philippe Celestin, Gregory Woolley’s alleged successor, Pietro D’Adamo, Davide Barberio, Dany Sprinces-Cadet, a man who was part of Woolley’s Syndicate gang and Emmanuel Zephir, another Syndicate gang member. Gregory Woolley’s home was searched and two cellphones were seized even though the notorious gangster had been assassinated only a month prior. These 6 individuals are accused of conspiring and commissioning the murder of Arsene ‘Big Mouth’ Mompoint, who was shot down in cold blood on the terrace of a Kanesatake cannabis dispensary on the 1st of July, 2021.

Security footage of the Arsene ‘Big Mouth’ Mompoint assassination.

Arsene ‘Big Mouth’ Mompoint was a gang leader that had sided with the Scoppa brothers, when they attempted to overthrow the Rizzuto’s in 2016. A notable enemy to Gregory ‘Picasso’ Woolley. Through the 7 search warrants executed on December 7th, a total of 32 cellphones were seized. Investigators had managed to hack into 14 of those cellphones.

Arsene ‘Big Mouth’ Mompoint

Upon further investigation, another 7 suspects were targeted by police, having their residences searched. This second particular set of people include Stefano Sollecito. Sollecito’s chauffeur, Charles Blanchette. Nicola Spanolo. Celine Nantel-Ganon, Samy Tamouro’s wife. Samuel Anthony Jamahl Chand, who is currently on trial for the murder of Maxime Lenoir, who was shot in the parking lot of the Rockland Center in 2022. Lenoir was allegedly tied to the HAMC. Finally, the two last suspects consist of Jahnye Hendricks and Daniel Fisher, two individuals affiliated with the Rollin 90s street gang. A gang which claims the color ‘blue’ and is allegedly headed by Marckens Vilme.

Now let’s get back to the raids which took place on June 12th, 2025…

Stefano Sollecito, Mario Sollecito & Leonard Rizzuto

Stefano Sollecito was also arrested at his Blainville home on June 12th, with La Presse snapping a picture of him being wheeled out of his house, and into a squad car that reads ‘Groupe Eclipse’ on its rear passenger window. Sollecito is currently facing unspecified health problems, hence him being wheeled out of his home. Stefano wasn’t the only Sollecito that was being targeted that morning, but his younger brother, 54-year-old Mario Sollecito, was also subject to a search warrant. The younger Sollecito rather evaded the law, ending up being one of the five suspects targeted in these raids that are still on the loose, possibly overseas.

Stefano Sollecito

Stefano and Mario Sollecito are the sons of now-deceased Rocco Sollecito, who was murdered on May 27th of 2016 in a conspiracy to overthrow the Rizzuto mob by the Scoppa brothers; Salvatore ‘Crazy’ Scoppa and Andrea Scoppa, both of whom are now deceased. Mario Sollecito once acted as Vito Rizzuto’s chauffeur after his release from prison. This plot to overthrow the Rizzuto’s was unveiled after Dominico Scarfo, Jonathan Massari, Guy Dion and Marie-Josee Viau were arrested on October 17th of 2019. Rocco Sollecito was shot while driving his BMW around Laval on that very fateful day. After all was said and done, Scarfo was sentenced to 25 years in April of 2022, while Massari was given a sentence for conspiracy to commit murder in March of 2023.

As for Leonardo Rizzuto, his own family name brings up a tarnished past, with his grandfather Nicolo Rizzuto being sniped in his own Cartierville residence on November 10th of 2010. While his brother, Nicolo Junior ‘Nick’ Rizzuto was gunned down a year earlier on December 28th near the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Upper Lachine Road in the NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grace) borough of Montreal. Leonardo Rizzuto’s own father is the infamous Vito Rizzuto, who passed away from either lung cancer or pneumonia in December of 2013 after having served a stint in a Colorado prison.

Pietro D’Adamo & Nicola Spagnolo

Among the other nine individuals arrested consist of 54-year-old Pietro D’Adamo, a rising star within the Rizzuto family, as well as 50-year-old Nicola Spagnolo, a supposed strongman for the mob. Both of these men had been arrested while serving bids for other unrelated crimes.

Nicola Spagnolo

D’Adamo is serving time for recent firearms charges with the conviction having taken place in April. More specifically for breaching conditions of his parole by being in possession of a firearm. These charges stem from an intervention executed in March of 2025, involving the SPVM, and occurring near the Nuns’ Island borough of Montreal. D’Adamo was allegedly running a cell in the South-West borough of Montreal and keeping close ties with the Irish mob in the city. Previously, D’Adamo was targeted within the frame of ‘Operation Colisee’ (Operation Coliseum) in August of 2009.

Vincenzo Spagnolo, father of Nicola Spagnolo.

Nicola Spagnola is the son of what was once a trusted Rizzuto ally, Vincenzo Spagnolo, yet another case of this trade being handed down, generation by generation. Vincenzo was supposedly one of Vito Rizzuto’s best friends. Vincenzo always held close ties to Vito during his incarceration with Vincenzo being the very first meeting the reputed mob boss, Vito, had taken part in upon his release in 2012. Vincenzo Spagnolo was later assassinated in his own home on October 25th of 2016.

Nicola Spagnolo is serving time for an odd sentence for a mafioso; an assault which occurred during a bar brawl that took place in the summer of 2020. The kerfuffle took place in a bar located in the Old Montreal borough of the island. Spagnolo was sentenced in 2023, to a three year sentence for having stabbed the man in a dispute. He was sentenced 22 times between 1995 and 2023, with the media stating that a lot of those events had to do with excessive alcohol consumption. Mostly consisting of DUIs and breaching his parole violations.

Jean-Richard ‘Race’ Lariviere

Jean-Richard ‘Race’ Lariviere is another interesting figure who was arrested in the bunch. ‘Race’ Lariviere started his journey becoming a member of the Rockers MC during the Quebec Biker War of the ’90’s. The Rockers MC were the most prominent support club for the HAMC during the 1990’s, with members that included such figures as Gregory ‘Picasso’ Woolley and Dany Kane. Lariviere was involved in the upkeep of different stash houses for either drugs or cash for the Nomads chapter of HAMC at the time. He eventually passed the ‘prospect’ stage, a step required to become a member, on December 5th of 2000.

This was short-lived following the arrests of Operation Springtime in 2001. He never saw his patch, having to plow through his prison sentence before gaining his colors. Lariviere was sentenced to upwards of 11 years being convicted for murder conspiracy, drug trafficking and gangsterism in 2004. He eventually gained his colors upon his release from prison in March of 2017, being an official member of the Montreal chapter of the HAMC.

Lariviere (left), Dany St-Pierre (Rockers MC) & Maurice ‘Mom’ Boucher (right).

‘Race’ Lariviere fell victim to informant Danny Kane, a member of the Rockers MC who decided to turn on the support club and it’s mother chapter in 1994 and eventually committed suicide in the year 2000. Through Kane, authorities learned that Lariviere was in charge of managing the HAMC Nomads chapter’s drugs and money. Lariviere rented an apartment on 7415 Beaubien East, in the Anjou borough of Montreal. A residence where authorities soon had their eyes and ears on with the flutter of a cash counting machine filling the empty voids of silence. The location acted as a bank for the Nomads chapter of the HAMC.

Jean-Richard ‘Race’ Lariviere photographed during Martin Robert’s wedding.

On the 30th of January in 2001, police executed a search warrant on the location and other residences which had yielded authorities 2 million in cash and 17 million in drugs. With a total yield of 5.6 million dollars after having executed search warrants on the several suspected residences targeted throughout the operation. It’s said that the drug trafficking operation sank 11 kilograms of cocaine a day along with 3 kilograms of hashish. The HAMC was allegedly banking 100 million a year at that time.

Jean-Richard ‘Race’ Lariviere

He was ultimately arrested on the 15th of February of 2001. Acting as security during a biker meeting in a Holiday Inn located on Sherbrooke West, in Montreal. Lariviere was arrested, being caught red-handed with a handgun, with one in the chamber. Operation Springtime was launched a month after, and Lariviere was eventually convicted in 2004.

Jean-Richard ‘Race’ Lariviere photographed during the HAMC’s annual ‘First Run’ of 2025.

His last few brushes with the law included his HAMC cut being seized by authorities in April of 2018 during Operation Objection, only 11 months after his inauguration into the club. Lariviere’s biker cut stands out, as he is one of the few bikers that prefer a patch made of tissue rather than leather.

Jean-Richard ‘Race’ Lariviere’s HAMC cut seized by authorities during Operation Objection (2017-2018).

Then there was the time Lariviere assaulted the owner of a Rosemere restaurant. On July 6th, 2020, a restaurant, located in Rosemere announced their last call before closing. Lariviere took this the wrong way and proceeded to assault the owner/manager of Pizzeria Sofia on Boulevard Labelle. He spent 4 days behind jail cell bars until he was released, with the condition he goes to therapy.

Pizzeria Sofia

This comes after he was tased while allegedly obstructing certain police officer’s work at Martin Robert’s wedding back in 2018. He was fined 1500$ for the Pizzeria Sofia charge, and 1000$ for the obstruction charge.

Davide ‘Baldy’ Barberio

Davide ‘Baldy’ Barberio is a man who had survived an assassination attempt of his very own life on the 21st of September of 2021. A 23-year-old man, Gahens Lee Souverain, was accused of the attempted murder back in December of 2022. Souverain was well known to authorities, as he was arrested while serving time for another crime. Barberio was shot in his abdomen while being in the garage of his very own home. According to the media, family members were present at the scene of the crime. The incident occurred near the intersection of Boulevard Levesque East and Rue du Tangara in the Duvernay sector of Laval.

Davide ‘Baldy’ Barberio

Previous to the attempt on ‘Baldy’ Barberio’s life was his involvement in Project Clemenza. A sweep that saw the arrests of 36 individuals related to the mafia. The Project Clemenza arrests took place on June 12th, 2014. Its aim was to dismantle 2 cells of the Montreal mob, one associated with the Bastone brothers and the other associated with Giuseppe De Vito. It had started in 2010, and was the successor to Project Coliseum (Projet Colisee). It included charges such as gangsterism, drug trafficking, kidnapping, arson, extortion and assault.

Davide Barberio’s Laval home.

Project Clemenza’s smoking gun was the interception of over 1 million encrypted Blackberry messages. In March of 2017, the charges against the individuals accused were withdrawn. This was due to a lack of transparency on how the RCMP investigators gathered their intel and how they conducted their surveillance. Refusing to offer proof on their techniques during the trial.

Barberio acted as a sort of ‘street boss’ for the Rizzuto’s. Building relations between reputed street gang leader Ahna ‘Tupac’ Otna and the Rizzuto family. So much so that in 2021 authorities had linked Otna as a Rizzuto affiliate. Barberio’s home was searched in December of 2023, along with a slew of other recurring names in Montreal’s underworld. 3 phones, 1 tablet, a taser, a silencer, a gun magazine and 15,000$ in cash was seized at his home. These warrants were set about, gathering evidence on cold murder cases that gained new light due to Frederick Silva’s cooperation with authorities.

Davide ‘Baldy’ Barberio

Barberio is suspected to be paired with Marco Pizzi in managing sports bets in the Rivieres-des-Prairies/Pointe-aux-Trembles boroughs of Montreal.

Vito Salvaggio

Vito Salvaggio was another suspect that was caught up in the famous Anjou apartments that ‘Race’ Lariviere was in charge of. The same apartments which the HAMC were using as a bank. Salvaggio was caught on film entering the apartments in question multiple times. Computer systems seized also showed how Salvaggio had made a transfer of 2 million dollars back in 2001. He was sentenced to four years for his involvement in the drug trafficking case.

Vito Salvaggio

During Project Magot, Vito Salvaggio was often seen around mob leaders such as Stefano Sollecito. Furthermore, in 2015, the Montreal mafia had to reorganize its leadership temporarily. This temporary leadership is alleged to have included Rocco Sollecito, Stefano Sollecito, Leonardo Rizzuto, Liborio Cuntera, Nicola Spagnolo and Vito Salvaggio.

An SPL SUV in the parking lot of Vito Salvaggio’s Laval home.

His residence was searched on December 7th of 2023, along with Davide Barberio and 7 other suspects through Project Reprisal (Projet Represailles). Authorities seized 212,000$ in cash and 8 cellphones at Salvaggio’s Laval Residence. Project Reprisal is an investigation bound on finding the suspects involved in the 2021 murder of Arsene ‘Big Mouth’ Mompoint. Project Reprisal is currently still pending.

Vito Salvaggio

Stacey Richard ‘Rick the Russian’ Krolik

Stacey Richard ‘The Russian’ Krolik, otherwise dubbed as Sacha Krolik in early media iterations of the June 12th raids, is currently one of the suspects on the run. It is believed he established his presence in the country of Turkey throughout the past recent years, evading authorities in the June 12th raids.

Stacey Richard Krolik (middle)

Krolik had been charged in a 2010 online gambling operation that the Rizzuto’s had allegedly taken part in. Krolik was fined 200,000$ in the aftermath of Project Coliseum (Projet Colisee). Police deemed Krolik to be an expert in the software used in sports betting, making him an important figure in the mafia’s interest in this particular type of gambling. He was also involved in the Michael DeGroote/Vito Rizzuto Dominican Republic casino kerfuffle along with Gianpietro Tiberio, although his role in that event is vague. The Globe & Mail state Krolik as one of the Rizzuto soldiers involved in the fiasco.

Gianpietro ‘JP’ Tiberio

52-year-old Gianpietro ‘JP’ Tiberio’s name had been mentioned in operations such as Project Magot in the second half of the 2010’s. He was even sent by the HAMC and the mafia to a casino in the Dominican Republic as a supposed business partner in 2021. Tiberio’s name also showed up during the Charbonneau commission fiasco. Tiberio was also “summoned” by Rizzuto as a management consultant to a casino, once again, in the Dominican Republic in one of Vito Rizzuto’s gambling ventures.

Gianpietro Tiberio
Gianpietro Tiberio

Tiberio was an acquaintance of Antonio ‘Turbo’ De Blasio who was gunned down in August of 2017 at a park in the Saint-Leonard borough of Montreal. 45-year-old De Blasio was shot while loading his son’s football gear in the trunk of his car. Also, tragically, in the eyes of his son. A TVA article posted in the same month mentions that De Blasio was affiliated with Tiberio. The article paints Tiberio as being in charge of the black market in the RDP borough of Montreal.

Jean-Ismael ‘Sixteen’ Zephir

Jean-Ismael ‘Sixteen’ Zephir, 46, has been a partner to Frederick Silva since day one. Both Silva and Zephir were part of a street gang named ‘Kraz Brizz’. Kraz Brizz was affiliated with Gregory ‘Picasso’ Woolley’s Syndicate organization. Jean-Ismael Zephir also has a brother, Emmanuel ‘Manno’ (other reports claim he went under another nickname; ‘Lance’), who is also very active in Montreal’s criminal underworld. Both Jean-Ismael and his older brother Emmanuel were arrested throughout Operation Axe in early 2009. Along with the Zephir brothers, other prominent names were arrested such as Woolley, Dany Sprinces-Cadet and the three Lavertue brothers.

Jean-Ismael Zephir

Operation Axe was a project brought on by the SPVM that targeted smaller crime groups associated with bigger organized crime groups, such as the mob or different biker clubs. 60 warrants had been issued, but only 47 of these individuals were charged and arrested. A whopping 500 SPVM officers and 200 RCMP officers took part in the operation on February 12th of 2009.

Syndicate member; Dany Sprinces-Cadet

Josue Francois, another member of Kraz Brizz, and a man targeted through Operation Axe, was in charge of managing the money owed to Gregory ‘Picasso’ Woolley and other Syndicate members serving time in the can. The Zephir brothers equally aided this task. The Lavertue brothers, which included former Olympian Jean Lavertue, Patrick and Stephane had also shared a similar task. Jean-Ismael Zephir was sentenced to 44 months imprisonment for drug trafficking. He spent 22 months in preventative detention, the time spent counted, as double and Jean-Ismael was released on the 15th of December, 2010.

Emmanuel Zephir being arrested in 2009.

Jean-Ismael and Emmanuel Zephir are big names in the Montreal underworld. Originally members of the Crack Down Posse, the brothers formed Krazz Brizz. It goes without saying that both these street gangs mentioned claim the color ‘blue’ and originate from the Saint-Michel borough of Montreal. This duo are sometimes referred to by news outlets as ‘untouchables’.

Emmanuel ‘Manno’ Zephir

Jean-Ismael’s brother, Emmanuel, was convicted of involuntary homicide when he had stabbed an individual at a birthday party in 1999. He spent six years behind bars. On January 16th, 2006, after his release from prison, he became a member of Syndicate.

Pierry Philogene

Pierry Philogene, 39, is a man that has only been in the news as of recently. Another one of the suspects that fled Quebec, for his involvement in the murder of Charles-Olivier Boucher-Savard. Funnily enough, Philogene had acted as Boucher-Savard’s chauffeur before his involvement in his death. Philogene is accused of the premeditated murder of Boucher-Savard along with Pietro D’Adamo, Davide Barberio, Darius Perry.

Pierry Philogene

Philogene was sentenced to 38 months in 2023 for being in possession of a firearm. As of the 25th of June, Pierry Philogene is believed to be taking refuge in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia.

Pierry Philogene

Darius Perry

Darius Perry, 27, from Chateauguay, is a member of the ‘Rollin 90s’. A Crip set that has been emerging more often within news headlines in the past few years. A street gang which is allegedly branching out to Quebec City. The notorious Marckens Vilme is one of the leaders heading this gang. Vilme is currently serving a bid behind bars for his involvement in the murder of Michael Deabaitua-Schulde in March of 2019. Deabaitua-Schulde was a member of the Niagara Chapter of the HAMC.

Marckens Vilme (left)

An event that made major headlines last year was the kidnapping of a crypto-influencer, Kevin Mirshahi. Darius Perry and Nackeal Hickey had been at the heart of that kidnapping, the motive is still unknown, although the kidnapping was most likely a ploy to get at Mirshahi’s crypto fortunes. On the night of June 21st, 2024, Mirshahi had headed home after a night on the town. He was accompanied with by buddy and two other women, when an SUV rolled up on them and proceeded to snatch up all four individuals. The incident occurred in the underground parking lot of Mirshahi’s condo residence.

Kevin Mirshahi
Joanie Lepage

The next day, three victims of the kidnapping had been found, safe and sound, somewhere in the west of Montreal. The only person missing was Kevin Mirshahi. The SUV used in the crime had consequently been found, lit up in flames and burnt to a crisp in Laval. It took a couple months before police started to make light of this whole kerfuffle, and eventually, in August of 2024, is when the first suspect was arrested. 32-year-old Joanie Lepage was arrested, interrogated and charged with first degree murder.

The SUV used in the Mirshahi kidnapping found burnt to a crisp.
The Monteregie residence where the victims were held and Mirshahi had been kidnapped. In other words, Joanie Lepage’s residence.

Then, on October 30th of 2024, Kevin Mirshahi’s body was found in Ahuntsic by blue collor workers, in charge of landscaping tasks for L’ile-de-la-Visitation; a park located in the borough. His hands were still tied behind his back as the voracious stench of his decomposing body lingered in the air. Finally, on November 19th, 2024, Darius Perry and 26-year-old Nackeal Hickey were arrested and charged for first degree murder as well as kidnapping. 32-year-old Guillaume Nobert, a fourth suspect is still on the loose.

Guillaume Nobert

Nackeal Hickey might ring a bell as he was one of the reasons a freak incident occurred in DDO, where police mistook a family unpacking after a camping trip as their suspect. This incident took place on August 4th of 2024.

Hickey had gotten in a disagreement with a friend, which led to a gunshot going off. Frightened neighbors then proceeded to call the police. When the SPVM showed up, Hickey frantically tried to steal a car passing by, flashing his pistol at the driver. On the first attempt, the innocent victim pressed on the gas, urging Hickey to try his hopes with another vehicle. His second target? A family, unpacking their belongings from their SUV. Gunshots went off, it’s unclear whether Hickey or the SPVM shot first. But there was a hail of bullets that rained down towards both Hickey and the innocent family afterwards. Three people including Hickey were shot, miraculously, no one was killed.

Daniele Guarna

Daniele Guarna, 45, is a man whom police consider to be an associate of Davide ‘Baldy’ Barberio. Guarna was sentenced to 48 months imprisonment in 2015 for drug trafficking. He was also sentenced to one year in 2006 for a firearms charge.

Guarna was the alleged manager of Laval’s Badabing bar, which was closed in 2023. The name is reminiscent of the bar Tony Soprano owned in The Sopranos TV series. In July of 2021, authorities marked the bar, filled with associates of Davide ‘Baldy’ Barberio, as a mafioso hang-out. Only two months later, a visit by authorities, which they deemed a routine check-up, unveiled two big bags; filled with drugs and a firearm. An investigator stated that the firearm found was big enough to kill an elephant.

The Badabing bar which Guarna was the manager of…

The Badabing was also a notorious establishment for sexual harassment. With a certain waitress going to police to report a case of sexual assault. Guarna even intimated the victim of the assault by showing her a pistol and telling her to “be careful of what she says…”, only a few days later. Guarna was tried, but eventually acquitted of the sexual assault case. A search warrant executed at Guarna’s residence brought up the seizure of two weapons, drugs and cash money.

Patrick Gilbert

Patrick Gilbert, 51, is accused of the premeditated murder of Domenico Facchini and the attempted murder of Vito D’Orazio. Gilbert is a member of the Moors MC, what seems to be an exclusively ‘black’ motorcycle club headed by Richard Goodridge on the North Shore of Montreal. The Moors MC was created in 2020 and is active in both Montreal and Laval. La Presse have dubbed this group as being more ‘inclusive’ than the other official MC’s throughout the province. Patrick Gilbert had been targeted by authorities in an attempted murder case which took place in the Little Italy sector of Montreal. Gilbert, Steven Therrien; an aspiring biker, and Kristina Svestka had been arrested following an incident which took place in an alleyway near the intersection of Saint-Dominique and Sainte-Zotique on April 20th of 2021. In the search warrant targeted at Therrien’s Blainville’s home, a pistol, a revolver and a Moors MC cut was found. In total 5 search warrants were executed in June of 2021, one that even targeted Richard Goodridge’s Laval home.

The revolver found in Thierren’s residence.

Witnesses that heard the gunshots which occurred during the daytime shooting on April 20th had phoned 911, which had subsequently alerted patrol officers of the shooting. Two officers had executed a traffic stop on Gilbert, who was fleeing the scene aboard a Honda CR-V towards 2pm that afternoon. Upon a search of the vehicle, an unspecified amount of crack and cocaine were found in the CR-V. Gilbert had been arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute.
