Two Dead Runaways After Police Chase On Highway 40 East

Two people are reported dead after a wild car chase on Quebec's autoroute 40 East. Halfway between Montreal and Trois-Rivieres.

You have got to be a fucking psycho to zoom down a busy highway opposing the traffic on a busy weekend. Worse yet, in a Kia Soul. Traffic accidents happen daily, but there’s only probably one percent of them that occur due to the driver being manic, or either having a hell of a warrant on him. Today (18/08/2024), a driver of a Kia Soul was clearly running away from something, although, we do not know what he was running away from.

Around 4pm to 5pm, a suspicious driver of a black Kia Soul had begun to be ‘pulled’ over by police. He didn’t pull over. He confused police, most notably 2 police vehicles that were trying to intercept him near the Maskinongne exit of the Highway 40 East, halfway between Montreal and Trois-Rivieres. He went to doing a U-turn and speeding down the 40 East but this time in the opposing lane.

The question simmers, what was he running away from? Had he just gone mad? Or did he hypothetically have a ton of drugs in the vehicle? We do not know, but he did not make it out alive, neither did his passenger, unfortunately. Near an exit, the unknown driver of the Kia Soul decided to steer his wheel to the left, which is when he started accelerating. Gaining momentum at every hundred meters, endangering lives at every second. Eventually, it crashed into a truck, killing the driver and passenger of the Kia Soul.

The vehicle had been called in from fellow motorist near the Repentigny exit on the 40 East. 30 to 40 kilometers later, authorities had almost managed to apprehend the vehicle, turning on their red and blue lights. These lights had no affect to the conscience of driver, which kept on driving and zooming on the highway. Near the Maskinonge exit, the driver of the vehicle had decided to turn on the opposing lane, which proved to be a fatal accident moments later.

Several quick-thinking motorists were able to dodge the Kia Soul heading straight for their dashboard. A Tesla had managed to record the Kia Soul zooming by on the opposing lane, leading to three different angles of the Kia Soul.

An expert analysis mentioned to the news that if a vehicle is heading down an opposing lane at 100km/h and hits another vehicle which is rolling down 100km/h, it is the equivalent of a 200km/h car crash, making it as twice as fatal.

We are unaware of the motive of why the driver fled so far.
